The ACLU is our nation's guardian of liberty. We work daily in courts, legislatures and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed to every person in this country by the Constitution and laws of the United States. Our job is to conserve America's original civic values - the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

LGBT Rights :
The struggle for equal rights based on sexual orientation has moved to the center stage with historical advances as well as continued injustices.
National Security :
Since September 11, 2001, our government has introduced countless new security measures that are either ineffective, unnecessary, or both, and they violate civil liberties principles.
