Making Schools Safe for ALL Students

Our Making Schools Safe Project works in coalition with community partners to foster a healthy and affirming academic atmosphere. Our efforts are grounded in a mutual respect for all students by increasing awareness of the negative atmosphere within schools created by anti-lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender bias.We work with students and school officials in developing inclusive anti-harassment and non-discrimination policies and offer support for the implementation of those policies.

The ACLU of Eastern Missouri, in partnership with GLSEN (The Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network), offers a free workshop for educators on making the school setting safe for all students. This interactive workshop consists of strategies and story telling. To get more information about our safe schools public education effort contact
