Public Education

In addition to the legal and legislative advocacy work that the ACLU accomplishes, public education remains at the core of our mission. Our staff and volunteers have visited schools and community events speaking about civil liberties.

We have established community projects such as our LGBT Rights Project and our Racial Justice Project to meet specific needs of two communities whose rights are routinely violated and/or nonexistent. Our Title IX Workshops educate youth about their rights to be free from sex discrimination in educational institutions. We table at community fairs as well as host forums and events. See our Events Calendar for details.

If you would like to request a speaker from the ACLU to come to your group or event please contact
