As a non-profit organization, the ACLU relies heavily on volunteers to help protect and promote civil liberties.
We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available to suit many different interest and skills levels. We need people who are willing to stuff envelopes as much as we need volunteer attorneys to litigate cases. We also have opportunities for high school, college students, law students and graduate students who wish to participate in our Internship Opportunities.
There are also volunteer roles for citizens interested in legislative action to make phone calls and write letters to legislators, participate in the ACLU's Lobby Day in Jefferson City, testify on civil liberties issues at hearings in Jefferson City, and host in-district meetings for ACLU supporters and legislators. Don't worry if you don't have lobbying experience. We provide training.
